Come Join Larry Gibson and Friends for Labor Day Gospel Weekend on Kayford!!!

Keeper of the Mountains Foundation and its founder, Larry Gibson, invite all friends, supporters, and people of good will to Kayford Mountain on Saturday September 1 and Sunday September 2 for a relaxing, fun-filled, and inspirational weekend of Gospel music and fellowship. Christians For The Mountains is honored to help with the organizing of this event.


Music, speakers, food, fellowship, and fun will start on Saturday, September 1st at 1:00 PM and the main day of the Festival will be Sunday, September 4th where preachers, gospel sings, bands, and more will all start at Noon.

Please invite friends to this free festival. However, please bring plenty of food to share for our potluck meals. Donations to defray costs will be gladly received at the festival or ahead of timethrough This event is family-friendly, with children welcome. Attendees are asked to not bring alcohol or drugs onto the premises.

Folks are welcome to tent camp overnight at no charge. Please remember that electric or water hookups are not available. Outside toilets, drinking water, and food will be available.

Tours of the dismal overlooks on mountaintop removal will be given.

Directions are the following (and don't lose heart, you'll get there):

It is important that you follow these directions as written below and don't rely on directions from your GPS or Mapquest or any other source that takes you across Pax Mountain from I-64/77.

  1. From Charleston, WV Follow I-64/77 south (through the toll gate) and from Beckley Follow I-64/77 north.
  2. Take exit 79, then turn Right at the bottom of the ramp if you're coming from the north and a Left at the bottom of the ramp if you're coming from the south.
  3. Make immediate Left onto Cabin Creek Road
  4. Travel 7.5 miles, then bear right at the 'Y'
  5. Travel 3.5 miles, and look for white church on right (Kayford Baptist church)
  6. Cross the one lane bridge and look for small numbered signs (1-15)
  7. At sign 15, bear right at the 'Y' and head up the mountain
  8. Bear right at the white rock with the American flag painted on it
  9. Travel 1/10th of mile then turn left into the parking area.
  10. Look for the Pavilion and stage area down the hill.
